Toys may only be hired by fully paid-up Library members;
All outstanding Library debt must be settled before toys may be borrowed;
Library membership is per immediate family i.e. primary caregiver(s);
Toy hire defaults to a 2 week period, shall you wish to hire toys for a 1 week period please notify the librarian. limited to 5 toys per library session;
Companies or organisations using the Library will be non-duty members;
The member is responsible for toys after leaving the premises. Please notify the librarian 027-7535046 of any missing toy piece(s) on the day of hire to avoid fines;
Reserved toys must be collected at the next library session;
Toys can be renewed at the standard hire charge by messaging 027-7535046. However, a toy may not be renewed if it is reserved by another member;
Toys are considered overdue four (4) days after their return date. Overdue toys are charged at the rate of $2.50 per toy per week;
All toys must be cleaned before they are returned;
Toys are checked on return to the library. Missing pieces are charged at $5.00 per piece ($5.00 is credited to your account if the piece is found within one month). Note: you may be charged extra if the cost of replacement exceeds $5;
Toys that are irreparably damaged beyond normal wear and tear are immediately charged at $5.00, after which the NOTL Committee will determine whether further charges will be applied for the damage;
Members are given fair notice when toys are due and overdue. In the event the Library is required to retain a debt collection agency to recover toys and/or monies owing, the member is liable for collection fees;
All Duty members are expected to fulfil their library duty throughout the year. Failure to do so will result in your being invoiced $35 to become a Non-duty member. The following year, you may only be offered a Non-duty membership;
The Library reserves the right to cancel membership with no refund if a member fails to comply with these rules;
The North Otago Toy Library takes no responsibility for any damage or injuries to any person or property caused by its toys;
In accordance with the Privacy Act, members’ details will not be shared with any other parties. All information is confidential and for Library purposes only. However, in the case of non-returned toys your details may be given to a Debt Collection Agency to retrieve property belonging to the North Otago Toy Library;
